Why do we consider ourselves the best?

Over the past 24 years of videotaping we have learned what our customers want – good camera angles and excellent video and audio quality. Don't be fooled by video companies using consumer or 'prosumer' cameras and offering low, low prices. These cameras have inferior video quality and cannot accept direct connections form the DJ for high-quality sound. And of course these companies will not mention the inferior video quality of their equipment. There two reasons are just a few not to use non-professional cameras.  Here are a few reasons we think we are the pinnacle of videotaping dance events:

1.      We are constantly upgrading our equipment.  We currently have acquired five $12,000 Sony 3-chip DSR370 cameras that are perfect for high-quality videotaping of all major dance events.  We use up to all five cameras, depending on the size of your event, but most of the events use one or two cameras.
We also use expensive wide angle lenses to capture more of the dance floor. Another added bonus that the other companies do not have.

2.      On our multi-camera shoots we use a high-quality Grass Valley component switcher to switch ‘live’ between the cameras – the same type of ‘component’ video that DVDs output for high-end TVs and the same type of switcher that the big networks use. Our 5-camera system is close to $200,000 worth of gear - which means your dvds will be the best they can be. We tape many corporate and talk-show events, and that is why we have this high-end gear.  

3.      We change our camera positions depending on the type of dance being performed.  Center camera for couples dancing solo – or side angles when groups are dancing – or wide angles for the Team divisions.

4.      We are the only production company that records several of our competitions directly to a Apple laptop computer for editing and DVD authoring (making the DVD master).  This allows for several things, one of which is the availability of DVD right after the dance for customer wanting to see their individual performance right away.  We burn the DVD right there!  Another advantage is faster editing and faster delivery of DVDs.  On some competitions the delivery time is down to 2 weeks, completely edited.

5.      All DVDs are chaptered so you may go to specific divisions quickly.

6.      We always use a mix of direct sound from the DJ and one or more ambient microphones to capture the energy of the audience.

7.      We offer entire DVD sets for less than other video companies while maintaining very high quality standards.    Our DVDs are encoded and recorded in the highest quality available for the length of the DVD. Audio is CD-quality.

8.      We pride ourselves in quality customer service.  In the rare event that there is a defective DVD we send a replacement out immediately. (Our return policy is 30 days so be sure and check your DVDs as soon as you receive them.

9.We listen to our customers and change our policies and even our shooting angles when it’s appropriate.
