Summer Hummer 99 thru current year
Every year, Bill Cameron puts on one of the most informal and
entertaining weekends for swing dancers in the Boston area. He really knows how to please, with
lots of competition, general dancing, and a very interesting pool party with
games and very funny sing-alongs that you have to see to believe, and two midnight buffets for hungry all-night dancers.
IMHO these are real dedicated dancers that will dance till 5 in the morning or later!
2002, 2003 and 2004 had WCS, Hustle,
Lindy and Nightclub 2-step Divisions. 2005, 2006 and 2007 was all West Coast Swing.
Here is Kyle Red & Deborah Szekley's 2007 Invitational Jack & Jill routine.
Each year's 3-DVD set includes all the divisions over all 3 days! TOver 6 hours of dancing. The weekends divisions included
Novice, Intermediate and Advanced Jack & Jills, Champions Strictly, Invitational Jack & Jill, Swing, Nov/Int Strictly and
Adv/All Star Strictly, Classic and Rising Star divisions. In 2006 a Showcase division was added. This division is
where the competitors are allowed lifts and drops in their routine. You can see the divisions of the most current
year by visiting their web site below.
In 2006 the Summer Hummer joined NASDE - National Association of Swing Dance Events.
This means that points are added to anyone who wins Showcase or Classic divisions for possible awards at the US Open in November.
Sorry – no workshops were taped at any of the Summer Hummer events.
Each year’s competition DVD set is $80 DVD.
All the prelims, finals and exhibitionsare included on the 3-DVD set.
