Seattle Easter Swing

 Seattle Easter Swing Convention

1994 thru current year

This event, directed by Jim Minte, is one of the most well-organized events in the country. All the divisions includes all levels of Jack n Jill and Strictly Swing, along with Classic and Showcase divisions. Since we have two very high-quality cameras recording each side of the dance floor for the heated divisions, everyone dancing, no matter what divisions, is seen on-camera 100% of the time. No more panning the dance floor and missing you or your favorite dancer!

All prelims and Semis are included - over 6 hours of dancing!

Price: $85 for the 3-DVD set

The workshop notebook video has all the instructors from the entire weekend. Price: $35.

We have changed our shooting style this year (2009), starting with SES. We opened up all Novice, Intermediate and Masters finals to personal video recording and have eliminated those divisions from our DVDs. The reason is that the screen it usually very wide and it is hard to see yourself, plus when we pan the dancefloor some dancers are not on screen. The good news is that we are now using two cameras on the Advance, All-star and Pro prelims as well as all the finals in the heated dance format, then editing each camera separately so EVERYONE os on screen 100% of the time!

The 2009 SES Convention was one of the smoothest running events I've been to. All the divisions were on time and all the Jack & Jills were coordinated professionally. Late night dancing till 6am! (I only lasted to 3am!) If you have never been to this event book your 2010 tickets now. It's worth every penny. This year was covered with two professional widescreen cameras and was also simultaneously broadcast on Global Dance TV (globaldance.tv)

About the SES:
The Seattle Easter Swing event is one of the few dance events in the country that is 100% West Coast Swing. The Jack & Jill divisions were Masters, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, All-Star and Invitational. Strictly Swing divisions are Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Professional. There was also a great Classic division and a Showcase division. this year's (2009) performance my Tatiana and Jordan really stood out as an increadible dance!

The 2007 SES convention was bigger than ever with a new venue at the SEATAC Hilton and a larger dance floor. Hundreds packed the ballroom to see the Saturday nights divisions This was by far the most entertaining evening of the event. Videotaped with two cameras.

2007 3-DVD Competition Set: $60 (new lower price) plus $5 for shipping

2006: Lots of great dancing and plenty of social-style patterns from the Jack & Jills to use in your own dancing. The Advanced and Invitational Jack & Jills were in the 'spotlight' format (one couple dancing on the floor) so you can see everything they do from the front row seat! All the prelims and semis are included in the 3-DVD set. Videotaped with 2 broadcast-quality cameras. Hats of to Jim Minty for taking the reins and directing this wonderful event with his great group of volunteers.

The 2003 event was an historic technical event for us.  We recorded the entire event on a computer hard drive and edited the event as it was proceeding. No videotape was used!   This means a faster turnaround time for your DVDs.  Plus, the DVDs are chaptered so you can go to a particular division and a particular couple immediately. As for the event, well…..  All I can say is this is one of the smoothest running events in the country.  Hats off to Alicia for picking up where Dean and Karen left off.  The music and dancing was very high caliber.   The workshops that were taped at this event were taped in ‘Notebook’ form so you can review all the lessons off of one tape.

The 2002 was indeed a great event – All West Coast Swing and lots of pros showing off their stuff! Terry West played some of the best WCS music ever.

The 2001 event was also a great event, attracting more pros than ever before. Very, very good Jack & Jill competitions, especially in the Invitational and Strictly Swing divisions. Lots of general dancing and several interviews are also edited in this set. All West Coast Swing.

All Competition Sets older than one year are only $60! And only $25 for a Workshop Notebook. Add $5 shipping!
